Help save the sea otters with the new limited edition dark teal and black 4Ocean bracelet Posted on 10 Sep 16:24 , 0 comments
4Ocean, the Florida based ocean clean-up company on a mission to end the ocean plastic crisis, have just launched a limited edition 4Ocean Bracelet to support the southern sea otter in partnership with Monterey Bay Aquarium. They hope to raise awareness of the threat to their keystone position in a healthy ocean ecosystem and their vital role as indicators in the marine environment.
Historically, sea otters were hunted nearly to the point of extinction and still only occupy less than 25% of their original range size. Currently, the population faces threats from oil spills, lack of canopy providing kelp, industrial runoff and of course human disturbance. To help counteract these elements, 4Ocean has partnered with Monterey Bay Aquarium who have been working on these problems since 1985.
As part of their Sea Otter Program, Monterey Bay Aquarium save, restore and return injured sea otters back into the wild. They also take care of orphaned sea otter pups and find homes for otters that are unable to return to the wild.
