A Carbon Neutral Website Posted on 2 Jun 10:55

We have used our website statistics to calculate the value of energy used each year, and projected the number of trees we will need to plant this year to offset the carbon footprint.

We will be adding new trees to our Scottish Highland Grove. We work with the charity Trees For Life, who plant native species to rewild the Scottish Highlands.

There are many tree planting initiatives around the world, and many companies offer carbon offsetting for a wide variety of reasons; often these projects are a numbers game, and are cheaper, but we wanted to support a considered ecological approach that had an impact on our own environment.

Their mission is to restore the Caledonian Forest that once covered much of the Scottish landscape. From remnants of the forest found in areas such as the Cairngorms, they are planting and connecting woodlands, improving the biodiversity, and helping wildlife corridors across Scotland.

One potential beneficiary is the Scottish Wildcat, also known as the Highland Tiger.

How could we resist?
