UK Posting - March 2021 Update

Please Note: Royal Mail are still experiencing severe delays; orders placed during this latest period of lockdown using any delivery service will be subject to delay.

There is a high demand, a backlog of parcels, and the second national lockdown is likely to compound these issues.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Delivery Advice

Our daily cut off is 12 noon, orders placed after noon may not be shipped until the following day.

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic is causing many problems, including some glitches with our online service.

  • please be aware that during the pandemic, some of our web fulfilment operations will be compromised due to time, access and social distancing constraints
  • the Royal Mail have encountered problems with staff availability and delivery services.
Please note that they are running behind with deliveries. Even express services are subject to delays.

    Please bear with us - the whole country (the whole world) is shopping online! 

    If you need your order quickly we recommend using the Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed service. 

    During the pandemic we would also ask you to be patient for your deliveries. Local lockdowns are putting immense pressure on logistics across the UK. We are operating in difficult circumstances, with social distancing in our shops, and our delivery partner Royal Mail has acknowledged difficulties in terms of collections and deliveries.

    Please be advised that due to the ongoing global outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have been advised by our carrier of restricted shipping to specific overseas territories. Please also expect delays to parcels being shipped out of the UK.

    Royal Mail (Special Delivery Guaranteed)

    Order before 12 noon. Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 11am - this is currently compromised by COVID and may take 2/3 days or longer.

    - Full tracking 

    - Guaranteed delivery next working day by 11am 

    - Orders placed after 12 noon on Friday, and on Saturdays and Sundays will be shipped on Monday for Tuesday delivery.

    UK Standard Delivery

    Royal Mail Standard - this is currently operating as a 4/5 working day service. 

    Standard delivery Royal Mail options are offered on our website.

    Please note that we are based in Scotland, and occasionally items take a little longer to reach some addresses. Orders placed over holiday periods may also take longer; Scottish bank holidays also differ from the rest of the UK.

    Rest of the World shipping is charged at £25 with a minimum spend online of £50. 

    Please note that with Standard delivery your newly purchased item will not be trackable.

    Any delivery charges will be automatically calculated for you when you proceed to the checkout.

    Free Edinburgh Click & Collect (resumes 5th April)

    Collections must be made from our Stafford Street store in Edinburgh. You will receive an email or a phone call from the store when your order is ready for collection!

    In most cases we should be able to fulfill your order in a few minutes, provided the stock is available in the Stafford Street shop. 

    During Lockdown, Click & Collect will be available Monday to Friday between 11am and 4pm, or other times by arrangement. 

    When the stores reopen, collections can be made during trading hours. Orders made before 12 noon can be collected on the same day after 4pm. This applies Monday to Saturday: orders placed after noon on Saturday through to noon on Monday will be available for collection after 2pm on Monday.

    Delivery Times

    Delivery will depend upon the service that you have selected. The service is based on working days after the moment you place your order online.

    For instance, if you place an order on a Monday after 12 noon, your order will be despatched on the following day (Tuesday). If you have selected the standard delivery service it currently takes 4/5 working days after that for the delivery to arrive. This would usually mean delivery to your chosen address by Friday or Monday. Orders placed later in the working week will be affected by the weekend. An order placed after 1pm on a Friday will not be collected until Monday, which would usually mean delivery on the following Thursday or Friday.

    These examples are for normal times, please see the note above regarding issues during the pandemic, which are currently compounded by Brexit uncertainties. 

    Very occasionally, due to factors outside our control, a delivery can be delayed. If this happens we will contact you by email and will agree with you a revised delivery date.

    You will receive tracking information when your parcel is despatched. If you would like any further specific information about your delivery, please contact us by replying to the email that we sent your order confirmation. If you need any further help please get in touch with us here.

    Delivery and Special Offers

    If you take advantage of a limited special offer, only one offer or discount can be applied to an order. The discount is applied to the sale price only and not the delivery. All 'free' delivery offers only refer to our 'Standard' UK delivery.

    Delivery of special items

    Some items from Paper Tiger can be considered special in relation to delivery if they are fragile, perishable, high value, large, heavy, or something that has exceptional delivery requirements. For items that we deem special, the standard delivery costs won’t apply and you will be able to find a special delivery cost in the product description.

    The shipping charges will be calculated on your shopping basket at checkout. Paper Tiger reserve the right to charge additional delivery charges for extreme weight items, items shipped to remote areas or orders that have been undercharged for shipping. We will contact customers about any additional delivery charges as soon as possible. We will offer a full refund if these charges are not satisfactory.

    International delivery

    We deeply regret that we have temporarily suspended International Shipping, pending further clarification regarding trade tariffs and tax liability after Brexit. 

     

    All items delivered

    Please check that your delivery address is correct and complete before submitting your online order. We are not responsible for items delivered to incorrect delivery information. After your order, you will receive a confirmation email that will confirm the delivery address.

    Your order will be delivered to you in Paper Tiger branded protective wrapping. 

    You will also have the option of adding a gift message to your order when you checkout. The shipping note does not show any prices!
