Store Manager - Maternity Cover

We are recruiting a maternity cover Store Manager for our Stafford Street shop.

The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of a store to maximise its performance, increase sales, deliver exceptional customer service and lead store team members. You will be working closely with all members of the Paper Tiger team, including the web orders team, and a store team of full-time, part-time and seasonal sales staff.

On a day-to-day basis, you will report to the Managing Director.

You will need to demonstrate experience and proficiency in all aspects of store management, including (but not exclusively) staff recruitment, development, and training, excellent customer service standards, merchandising and display, sales and reporting analysis, administration and compliance, and stock control and replenishment.

The ideal candidate will have previous retail experience with a High Street chain or independent retail business in a supervisory or management capacity. You must be able to demonstrate experience of effective team leadership. Training in leadership skills would also be beneficial.

You will need great interpersonal skills, demonstrable leadership skills, and be technically competent with Google Workspace Apps, spreadsheets and ideally a good understanding of Shopify EPOS. Working in a small business is dynamic and retail is a fast moving and ever changing environment - good candidates will be flexible, show initiative, have excellent commercial awareness and be educated beyond senior school level.
