Chocolate Tree are one of the few, true bean to bar chocolate makers in the UK. They create superior quality, single origin and blended chocolate from the raw cocoa bean right through to the finished chocolate bar.
Although the recipe doesn't contain milk the unique blend of aromatic hazelnuts ground with heritage cacao, cocoa butter and cane sugar delivers a rich flavour with a smooth, satisfying melt. The initial rich chocolate flavour belies this bars 42% cocoa content and pairs perfectly with an espresso.
Gianduja was created in the Piedmonte region of Northern Italy during Napoleonic times, when cocoa was harder to come by. By marrying the local aromatic hazelnuts into the chocolate process, a delectable treat was created which has been popular ever since.
